GROCER JACK runner-up in Gr.3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes

GROCER JACK finished a very good second in the £80,000 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes yesterday at Haydock. Ridden by Tom Marquand, the colt was unable to hold off the winner, but defended his place of honor with great speed. The five-year-old Oasis Dream son was bred by Dr. Christoph Berglar out of the Doyen mare GOOD DONNA, who was a private purchase from Ronald Rauscher Bloodstock.
After winning the Gr.3 Preis der Deutschen Einheit last year, GROCER JACK advanced to top seller for RR Bloodstock at Tattersalls and competed for his new connections in the $1.5 million Neom Turf Cup in Riyadh, where he finished a strong fifth. After a four-month break, the colt showed great form in the Gr.2 Grand Prix de Chantilly with a fourth-place finish and was most recently a Listed winner in the Newbury Stakes, where he beat Gr.2 winner Cadillac.
